DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – There is a new sign along Harrison Street reminding drivers that businesses are open despite the construction.
Harrison has been under construction for the last month. Traffic is routed from Harrison onto Brady street from 14th street to 4th street during the construction.
Business owners say the first week was a mess, but business hasn’t been that bad.
One owner went so far as to propose a two-way on both Harrison and Brady streets.
“I’d have more business if Harrison and Brady were both two-way instead of one way,” said the owner of East Side Bakery, Nikki LaTray.
LaTray says the City of Davenport has been helpful throughout the construction process checking in on the stores to see if they can help.
