BARNES CITY, Iowa (AP) — Authorities have identified a pedestrian who was found dead on a southeastern Iowa street.

The Iowa Department of Public Safety says Monday that 24-year-old Courtney Moore, of What Cheer, died after being struck by a vehicle Thursday.

Officials say 26-year-old Trenton Garber, of Montezuma was driving the vehicle that struck the woman.

Department spokesman Alex Murphy says there have been no charges filed in the case. Officials say Garber is a former boyfriend of Moore.

The Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call Thursday reporting a person had been struck by a vehicle.

An autopsy has been performed at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny and results could take four to six weeks.

Authorities are still investigating the incident.
